Volunteer at HCHSA’s Olympic Day – June 23rd, 2018

Olympic Day is much more than a sports event, it is a day for the world to get active, learn about Olympic values, and discover new sports based on the three pillars of move, learn, and discover. It is a day where former Olympians give back to their communities. Harris County-Houston Sports Authority is a proud supporter of Olympic Day, and this year over 250 at-risk children were introduced to several Olympic sports, including baseball, boxing, gymnastics, Taekwondo, tennis, track and field, and bobsled! Each sport was taught by one of Houston’s very own Olympians!

WISE Houston was able to volunteer thanks to HCHSA and helped pass out medals to every child as a way to remind them that they are a champion who can accomplish anything they set their mind to! WISE Houston members also donated various arts and crafts items and sporting equipment to the Moody Park and Community Center! It was an afternoon of many smiles and fun!
